An update on my weight loss goals. I think i last wrote about this in March. I'm continuing to monitor what i eat & drink & also exercising frequently.
For a while i got stuck on what is referred to in weight loss as a plateau. My original goal weight was 180 lbs, and for a month and a half i was hovering at about 185 or so and not really making progress. To remedy this, i changed up my exercise routine a bit. I joined the Guelph Kettlebell Club & kicked my exercise into high gear. Really high gear. I go twice a week & it's a helluva workout. Doing this for a few weeks has helped to blast me past 185 lbs. I also continued with things like bike riding, basement workouts, etc.
So now i've met my original goal of going from 215 to 180 lbs. I'm actually a little less than that (about 178-179). I'm going to take it down a little more & see how i feel & look. I would like to work on getting stronger without adding bulk. I want to be functionally strong, if you get me. Kettlebells are helping with this a lot.
The only downside to all of this is that none of my clothes fit - at all. They were all big before & now they're huge. I can't really afford to go out & buy a whole new wardrobe (even if i went to Winners & Value Village). Over the summer, i will be looking for bargain basement sales so i can replace my work wardrobe.
Let's see if i can keep it up (& off)!
