Colour C64

One thing that i realized recently regarding the C64 - this computer was known at the time for its vibrant use of colour. We did not actually have a C64 monitor, and we got the C64 before our family even had a colour TV. For the most part, the computer was operated using a crappy black & white tiny Zenith TV.

This means that for all the years that we used the C64, most of it was done without actually getting to see what many of the games & programs looked like in colour. Eventually my family got a colour TV, but it was rare that we brought the computer downstairs to hook it up to that TV.

Can you imagine someone playing their PS3 or Wii on a black & white TV now? It would be unheard of.

I do remember the first time we hooked the computer up to the colour TV. The first game i tried was Bruce Lee. I remember how vibrant & crazy the colours looked. Here is a screen shot that i stole from someone who probably stole it from someone else:

Pretty nice, eh?
