Yup, it's time for internet cooking 101 again. Today's recipe was for some minestrone soup. I found it here. Funny that before the recipe begins, the author basically states in so many words that there is no such thing as minestrone soup, as so many variations exist. This would seem to absolve them of any bad recipes that may ensue (like the time I made "African stew" (!?) from some random webpage - absolutely revolting).

However, this one is ok! It's not the greatest Minestrone that I've ever had, but it's certainly not the worst. I like the use of rare and odd spices like Thyme. Because as we all know, these days thyme is so hard to come by.

That was terrible. I know. But the soup isn't!

I should point out that while it made a lot of soup, buying all the ingredients necessary cost me about 35 bucks. I know that some of those things will contribute to more than one meal, but wow.
