Crockpot crackpot

You know, James Rocchi posted about buying a crockpot on his Facebook page, and that really reminded me that I need to end this run on sentence. Actually, it really reminded me that I need to get my crockpot out and get crocking!

I wrote something to this effect on his wall there, but I'll paraphrase myself (who doesn't).

The thing I like best about crockpots is that although you have to get up at like 6 a.m. to dump all your ingredients in, it pays off big time. You go to work or whatever, and the crockpot cooks for 8 to 10 hours. If your memory is anything like mine, you likely will remember all Spidey's archenemies from 1965 onwards, or recall the last hand you got beat with at Saturday's poker game, but you will not for a moment have any memory of setting up the crockpot earlier that day. This means that when you walk in at home that night, you will a) smell something amazing and b) wonder who the Hell broke into your home and cooked you a meal and finally c) realize "oh yeah, that was ME!" and then feel proud.

So yes, I do need to bust out that old chili recipe and get the crockpot fired up.
